Products I've Used Up/Tossed

These are the products that I've finished/tossed since April of this year:

The Body Shop Vitamin E Body Butter (x2). I know that it only shows one in the picture, but I finished another one two nights ago. I'm on my 5th body butter this year! HG... that's all I can say. -- Will I repurchase? Of course.

Lancome Renergie Lift Volumetry (sample). Even though this was a sample, it lasted a very long time. All I can say now is my skin is in its worse condition since my teen years. I don't know why I only realized it after I finished it, but whatever. -- Will I repurchase? H to the L No.

Shiseido Benefiance Contrated Anti-Wrinkle Eye Cream (sample). This was a very small sample, but it lasted me two months! It's one of the better eye creams I've used in the past, but I don't think it's HG material... I haven't found THE eye cream for me just yet. -- Will I repurchase? Possibly.

Kiehl's Lip Balm #1. I liked it at the beginning, but I then realized it just felt like I had vaseline on my lips (with the same results). Save your money! -- Will I repurchase? No.

ELF Glossy Gloss - Berry Blush. It's a beautiful color, but I didn't like how it felt on my lips... I don't know if I got a bad one, but it smelled like plastic and went on uneven. This was tossed in the trash. -- Will I repurchase? No.

Kirkland Daily Facial Cleansing Towelettes. My favorite makeup remover. Also HG! -- Will I repurchase? Yes.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out my perfume giveaway if you haven't!

Products I've Used Up/Tossed/Purged

These are the products that I've used up or tossed in the year of 2011 so far:

  • Pond's Makeup Remover Wipes. I will never purchase these again... After trying out the Kirkland wipes, I found these way too harsh. It took me a long time to finish the pack because I used it to remove the makeup on my hands (foundation/cream shadows/etc).
  • Kirkland Makeup Remover Wipes. I've been using these since the summer of last year and I cannot get over how soft and gentle they are to my skin! It smells divine and makes my skin feel super smooth and soft.
  • The Body Shop Vitamin E Body Butter. HG! I'm on my 3rd body butter (going on the 4th soon) this year and I can't get enough of it. I don't know if I have ever mentioned this before, but my skin used to be very dry and flakey... this body butter changed that! If you are thinking about getting a body butter from The Body Shop, I recommend this one!
  • My Beauty Diary Facial Masks - Black Pearl & Cherry Blossom. I like these so far! I haven't had the time to try out the other ones, but I will be sure to buy more of these before I run out.
  • Ole Henrickson African Red Tea Foaming Cleanser. The only thing I can say about this cleanser is that it lasted a very long time... One pump is all you need for your face. However, I don't think this is anything special, but I feel that way about most facial cleansers.
  • Covergirl LashBlastFusion. I love this mascara! It separates, volumize, and holds my curls very well! I already have a backup, so I don't need to repurchase just yet.
  • L'Oreal Lineur Intense. This product was tossed. It flakes. That is all it takes to be on my list.
  • Rimmel Glam Eyes. Tossed. It smudges and flakes.
  • Maybelline Great Lash Clear Mascara. Tossed. I used it as a brow gel, but I didn't like how it felt or looked.
  • Diorshow Blackout. I liked this at the beginning, but it started to smudge on me after a while.
  • L'Oreal Voluminous. Tossed. It smudged and didn't do my lashes any favor. It did, however, make me look like a raccoon with darker lashes.
  • Korres Evening Primrose Eye Cream. Tossed. This was a product that I tried a long time ago, but it didn't work well for me. I wish I was able to give it away, but it expired a long time ago. However, I recently bought a Korres box set and the exact eye cream came with it, so I will have a giveaway soon.

I've been wanting to downsize my collection for a while now, but I always felt like I would deeply regret it if I did. I offered some of them to my mother-in-law and of course, she picked some products out:
  • Urban Decay Book Of Shadows Vol. II
  • NARS Amour blush
  • R&R Seduce blush
  • MAC DSquared Bone Beige/Emphasize
  • ELF Golden Bronzer
I felt a little empty on the inside when I decided to let go of UD BoS II, but I knew it was in good hands because my mother-in-law uses everything she owns... Unlike me, who happen to give certain products attention for a small amount of time then finds something else to replace them with.

The bottom line is I feel ok about it... so I might end up doing a huge blog sale in the near future.

Review: EOS Lip Balm - Lemon Drop SPF15

At the beginning of September, I finished my EOS lip balm in Lemon Drop. Out of all of the lip balms I've used, this one hits one out of the ball park! What I love most about this product is the fact that it doesn't dry out my lips even after it wears off -- which is the problem I've encountered with other lip balms.

PROS

- 100% natural

- It has SPF15

- It makes my lips feel smooth

- Very hydrating

- Nice texture

- Nice scent

NEUTRAL

- Packaging. It's unique, but I find it too bulky to put it in my pockets.

CONS

- When I first opened it, the balm fell off! I pressed it into the base in hope I wouldn't have the same problem again -- it worked.

- It's easy for dust to get into the product even if it's closed. It doesn't get necessarily into the product, but where you open/close the lid. There's a little gap and it's seriously a dust magnet.

If you happen to run into these at the drugstore, I recommending getting Lemon Drop. It's the only one with SPF and the texture of it is much nicer than the other two.

So that's it for now. Thanks for stopping by. Ta-ta!

These things don't last forever. #2

I wish I was able to count these products for Project 5 Pan, but I don't feel good about doing that! Actually, I finished two of the items before I even started the project, but as usual, I've neglected to make this post.

1. Korres White Tea Facial Cleanser. I finished this bottle in July, but I never bothered to announce it since I only finished one product! [I guess I'm a list person.] I'm currently on my second bottle!

2. RareMinerals Active Triple Treatment Eye Cream. I finished this product a week after I finished my cleanser! It's a great eye cream, which is why I'm on my second tube.

3. Maybelline Full N Soft Mascara. Unfortunately, I didn't finish this mascara... It's been sitting in the back of my drawer for longer than 7 months and it's obviously not safe to use anymore. I wouldn't repurchase it because I've used better mascaras.

4. Maybelline Ultra Liner (Waterproof). I haven't had this product for that long, but it's so crappy that I decided to toss it. I have a review on it here.

5. Clinique Clarifying Lotion 3. I had about 25% left, but I find it wayyyy too harsh for my skin. I definitely wouldn't repurchase!

Sorry for a non-picture post, but I forgot to take pictures of them before I threw them out. =\

What about you guys and gals? What were some of the last products you've finished or tossed?

Ta-ta for now!

These things don't last forever.

So I had a lot of work to do the other day: dust, go through my closet to figure out what clothes I want to keep or donate (which is what I did to the majority of them), and throw away expired products! It sounds very little, but it was a lot to do considering we have a lot of stuff in our house.

While I was looking through my vanity, I realized I had a lot of stuff I needed to toss out! I threw away three face exfoliators, two facial soaps, and some tooth whitening products. Then I realized it was time for me to go through my makeup to figure if I needed to toss anything out. Luckily for me, it was only two products...

Now keep in mind that I don't keep my mascaras longer than I'm supposed to. I've thrown away a lot old makeup I've had in the past, but I thought it would be nice to keep track of them now since I have this blog.

Make Up For Ever Smokey Lash. I've had this mascara for a while, but I only started using this last month... This is a lovely mascara that provides my lashes a whole lot of drama, but it didn't come with a stopper, so I've decided to toss it out. I was blotting the wand with a tissue paper whenever I used it, but honestly, it's just too much trouble for me. I'm not going to repurchase it just yet because I still have a lot of mascaras to go through.

Sonia Kashuk Brow Gel. This brow gel is a little over a year old... and I think that's a little too old for me to continue using it. It's tinted brown because I used it to set my brow powder and I honestly think I could have finished it before it led to this, but I don't wear makeup on a daily basis to begin with. Anyway, I noticed my mac palettes were getting kind of sticky and I'm pretty sure it's the gel that's leaking onto it... so out this goes!

I didn't toss this out because I had to, it's because...

I finished it! *holds up a ~gasps~ signs up*

I kid you not, this is the first lip product I have EVER finished... Sure, I could have finished plenty of the lip balms I've had in the past, but they were always either misplaced or dropped without the cap on ~ I refuse to use a dirty lip balm. I am a little embarrassed to admit that I have not finished (or even hit pan on) any of the cosmetics products I own. Because of this, I am thinking of doing a Project 10 Pan which I've attempted and failed countlessly.

Anyway, that's it for now. Thanks for stopping by & Ciao! =)
